Objectives

Major Objectives: While specific programmes will be designed and implemented for identified goals, the broad objectives of SIID include

Promote and propagate Science and Technology applications in society through publications, website, Science and Technology parks and new technologies.
Compile traditional knowledge in various areas of farming, architecture, medicine, art forms, media and materials, etc., and carryout research with modern methods.
Promote and/or establish heritage centres, museums, activity centres, etc. and create, compile and maintain a multi-media database on S&T heritage.
Carry out research in frontier and unconventional areas of societal importance.
Develop industrial and/or business liaisons and projects to develop Science and Technology products for end-user requirements.
Act as a think tank for integrated Science and Technology application and management.
To establish, maintain and operate institutions to impart comprehensive and integrated education including Science and Technology.
To develop national and international research alliances, consortia and research and development networks.
