Given the all-pervasive nature of science and technology in today’s society, there is need for significant efforts by all concerned to deliver the potential benefits offered by science and technology to the people. This requires an approach that is comprehensive and not limited to the traditional boundaries, and an effort that is focused on outreach to the end user. SIID is an attempt to plant and nurture efforts to develop implementable solutions and create actionable knowledge.
